Want to turn your black beans into something more exciting than… well, just beans? Then try this perfect black bean hummus recipe. It’s so versatile and can be enjoyed in a variety ways. Scoop it with a cracker, dip a chip or spread it onto toast. However you choose to eat it, I know you’ll enjoy it. It’s a great vegan recipe, too!

Black bean hummus

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Citrus reamer
  • Measuring cup
  • Tablespoon
  • Teaspoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked black beans
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 3 tablespoons black bean water Either from the can or from the water you cooked the beans in.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Olive oil For drizzling on top.

Instructions

  • Roughly chop the garlic.
  • Add all ingredients together and blend until it's a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Scoop into a serving dish and drizzle generously with olive oil on top.

Notes

You can  use a food processor, standing blender or immersion blender. Use the one that has enough power to blend into a creamy consistency.
